HEBEI MAISHI produces stainless steel mesh since 1986. Materials include non-magnetic or weakly magnetic.
AISI201(SUS201/EN1.4372) stainless steel mesh material is usually what people say, non-magnetic nickel-free stainless steel wire mesh. AISI304(SUS304/EN1.4301), AISI316(SUS316/EN1.4401), AISI316L(SUS316L/EN1.4404) material is generally non-magnetic stainless steel wire mesh. But in the weaving process, there will be friction which makes the stainless steel mesh contains certain magnetism. So after the production, we will do some treatment to remove the magnetism. But when customers use the meshes, there will be friction again, and the meshes will contain magnetism again. So for stainless steel meshes, there will be more or less the magnetic.
More specifically:
For AISI304(SUS304/EN1.4301) stainless steel mesh, when the composition segregation smelting or when the mesh is not under so good heat treatment, it will cause a small amount of martensite or ferrite separate out. Then it appeared few magnetic in AISI304(SUS304/EN1.4301) stainless steel.
Furthermore, after cold producing of AISI304(SUS304/EN1.4301) stainless steel mesh, the organizational structure will be transformed to martensite, the greater the degree of cold deformation, more martensite transformation, the greater the magnetic steel. To eliminate the above-mentioned causes magnetic AISI304(SUS304/EN1.4301) stainless steel wire mesh, we can restore austenite high temperature solution treatment, thereby erasing magnetic.
Classification:
1. Austenitic stainless steel wire mesh: AISI304(SUS304/EN1.4301), AISI321(SUS321/EN1.4541), AISI316(SUS316/EN1.4401), AISI310S(SUS310S/EN1.4845), etc;
2. Martensitic or ferritic stainless steel wire mesh: such as AISI430(SUS430/EN1.4016), AISI420(SUS420J1/EN1.4021), AISI410(SUS410/EN1.4006) and so on;
Austenitic type is non-magnetic or weakly magnetic, martensite or ferrite is magnetic.
