Mesh size=25.4/(wire diameter+hole size)
For example: 100mesh/inch, wire diameter 0.10mm, the hole size is:
25.4/100-0.1=0.15mm
Wire diameter 0.10mm, the hole size 0.15mm, the mesh size is:
25.4/(0.1+0.15)=100mesh/inch
Opening area is calculated from the mesh opening and wire diameter, the calculation method as below:
Opening area(%)= (hole size x hole size)/[(hole size +wire diameter)x(hole size +wire diameter)]x100%
For example: 80mesh, wire diameter:0.12mm,aperture:0.198mm, the opening area is:
Opening area=(0.198x0.198)/[(0.12+0.198)x(0.12+0.198)]x100%=39%
Roll weight for plain weave and twill weave mesh:
Weight(kg)=mesh size x wire diameter(mm) x wire diameter(mm) x roll width(m) x roll length(m)/2
For example:
100mesh x 0.1mm wire diameter x 1.22m x 30m, the roll wight is as below:
Roll weight(kg) =100x0.1x0.1x1.22x30/2=18.3(kg)
Calculation for dutch weave mesh:
Weight(kg)=mesh size(warp)x warp wire diameter(mm) x warp wire diameter(mm) x roll width(m) x roll length(m)/4+mesh size(weft) x weft wire diameter(mm) x weft wire diameter(mm) x roll width(m) x roll length(m)/4
For example: 24/110mesh x 0.36mm/0.25mm wire diameter x 1.22m x 30m, roll weight is as below:
Roll weight(kg)=24 x 0.36 x 0.36 x 1.22 x 30/4+110 x 0.25 x 0.25 x 1.22 x 30/4=91.36kg
