1.Sulfuric acid
Stainless steel is resistant to sulfuric acid corrosion in dilute sulfuric acid and concentrated sulfuric acid, due to its passivated state. However, in medium concentrations of sulfuric acid solution, it will be corroded.
2. Nitric acid
Stainless steel wire mesh has good corrosion resistance in nitric acid, which is mainly due to the fact that various concentrations of nitric acid solution can passivate stainless steel. Therefore, the production of nitric acid, transportation, storage equipment and pipeline materials are mostly made of stainless steel. However, when the temperature rises, nitric acid will cause a certain degree of corrosion to the stainless steel. For example, more than 70% of the concentrated sulfuric acid solution can cause passivation corrosion of the chromium in the stainless steel. In industrial production, stainless steel is often used under normal temperature conditions to avoid corrosion of nitric acid.
3. hydrochloric acid
Stainless steel is corroded in hydrochloric acid, mainly due to the presence of chloride ions. In very low concentrations of hydrochloric acid solution, stainless steel may be passivated. When the temperature rises, the corrosion rate of stainless steel increases, and stainless steel materials and products are generally not used in hydrochloric acid.
When using stainless steel wire mesh, we should pay attention to the environment, and do not cause corrosion of stainless steel due to environmental choices.
